Compass Guide Evaluation of Hippo
Summary
Hippo is one of the few enterprise-grade, Java-based open source CMS platforms. From early on, the vendor’s experience with large enterprises put an emphasis on multi-site, multi-lingual, multi-channel capabilities; and Hippo’s functionality here is exceptional, ranking second in the overall market. Hippo CMS excels in Web-to-mobile capabilities, and the platform has an exceptionally clean, scalable architecture. Although currently enjoying only limited market presence (improving recently), Hippo is worthy of consideration alongside the other leading platforms -- open source and commercial.
